Data Orchard are proud to have helped Weston-under-Penyard become the first parish in Herefordshire with an approved neighbourhood plan, which will give the parish greater influence over local planning and development decisions over the next 15 years and beyond.

The construction of the plan has been a major undertaking for the community, requiring a huge commitment by volunteers to get to grips with planning law and to consult with their residents and businesses.  It is testament to the health and resilience of Weston and similar communities right across the county and serves as a blueprint for local democracy.

We analysed their residents’ survey and have provided expert advice on policy development and the Basic Conditions Statement.  The hard work of all involved culminated in a local referendum in February 2016, when nearly 40% of electors turned out to give the plan a massive thumbs-up (96.4% in favour).

“Data Orchard helped us enormously to achieve the progress we wanted”, said the plan steering group’s John Smart. “It has been a pleasure working with your team over the last two years and we would recommend other NDP groups to make good use of the services available from Data Orchard.
